Baptist Times, 2/ 11/ 78. The Soviet authorities have granted to the All-Union Council of Evangelical Christians-Baptists (AUCECB) a permit for the import of 25,000 Russian Bibles in to Soviet Union. This will be the largest consignment of Bibles ever sent to the USSR. The AUCECB is asking the European region of the United Bible Societies to supply the Bibles as well as 2,000 Russian concordances. There is also a continued demand for the Bible in all the countried of Eastern Europe. In Romania, for example, 100,000 copies of the Romanian New Testament and Psalms are being produced on paper supplied by the United Bible Societies. (OA)
