Rome – N. S. Archbishop Casaroli’s description of the talks with Bulgarian President Zhivkov as «USEFUL» is bound skepticism. He is blamed for «concessions» which are branded of damaging to the Catholic cause. He, as secretary for the Church’s public affairs, has been carrying out orders from Vatican, but he also has repeatedly defended the policy of contacts with Communist regimes.
